FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The following is a list of the most popular questions received via phone calls and emails regarding our products and services. Please take a look before contacting us with your question.

Q, What is a BB gun?

A, BB guns use air and spring power and are intended for general target practice. They use 6mm plastic BB bullets (small balls) and are totally harmless providing our safety information is observed.

Q, How old do you need to be to buy a BB gun?

A, You must be 18 years old to purchase a BB gun and all orders are only accepted on the condition customers have read our safety information before purchasing.

Q, What is the youngest you can be to operate a BB gun?

A, Most BB guns are suitable for persons 14 and above, however we strongly recommend that they are supervised by an adult i.e. 18 and above.

Q, Why are the BB guns on this website not illegal in the UK?

A, All of our BB guns are two tone with one of the colours being almost luminous orange. It is now only illegal to sell black guns that could be mistaken for the real thing. We have also now added some clear guns that are also non black and OK within the UK.

Q, What does FPS mean when I see it on this website relating to a BB gun?

A, FPS - means Feet Per Second and is used like MPH - Miles Per Hour i.e. it is a way of measuring the speed in which the BB gun will project the BB bullets when fired.

Q, What is a HOP UP?

A, Most of our guns have a HP UP incorporated, its a sophisticated shooting system that offers the same exceptional power and velocity as guns without a HOP UP system but with the bonus of up to double the distance and enhanced accuracy.

Q, What should I do if my BB Gun is jammed?

A, To clear a jammed BB pellet from the barrel of your BB gun use the unblocking tool or unjamming rod. Fist remove the magazine and switch off the safety. Push the rod gently down the barrel to loosen the bb. Never look down the barrel to view the jammed BB.

For best results spray or drop airsoft silicon lubricant into the barrel. Do not attempt to remove the barrel or open the BB gun as this will invalidate the warranty. Never use cheap BB pellets. The use of poor quality, low grade BB pellets may cause damage to you gun and will invalidate the warranty.

Q, Should I have the HOP UP on or off when unblocking BB pellets from my gun?

A, Switch it off - please see below...

1. Remove the magazine and return the hop up adjustment to the normal position

2. Insert the cleaning (unblocking) rod from the load edge of the barrel, be shore that the angled part of the rod faces down and remove clogged bullets.

Q, Can I reuse BB pellets?

A, Only use new BB pellets or your gun WILL jam, as old BB pellets will be distorted in shape

Q, Why does my electric BB gun only works upside-down?

A, If you have a motorised magazine it will need winding up, also motorised magazines only work correctly when they have lots of BB pellets physically in the magazine. Please do not over wind your magazine as it may seriously damage it long term.

Q, What BB pellets should I use?

A, Do not use low quality BB pellets that will jam and damage your gun. Only use high quality recommended 6mm BB pellets!

Q, Can I take the gun in to mud and water?

A, Keep your gun clean and free from dirt

Q, How many BB pellets fit in my magazine?

A, Do not over fill your magazine or insert anything other than recommended BB pellets

Q, Will I need to clean my gun?

A, Your gun may need lubricating from time to time, only use high quality BB gun lubricant

Q, Can I upgrade the batteries to get more power?

A, Never use anything other than the recommended battery type as supplied with your gun

Q, How long should I charge the battery for?

A, Never overcharge the gun battery!

*WARNING*: Do not overcharge batteries! If they overheat, you could cause damage to the battery and create a potential fire hazard!

  • Be sure to read the charger instructions thoroughly before charging your battery.

  • Not all chargers are created equal. Please use the proper charger which is intended for your battery type, i.e. if you are charging a 9.6V Nimh battery, be sure your charger can charge 9.6V batteries and Nimh batteries.

  • Be sure to use the proper connectors to connect your battery to the charger.

  • Calculate the proper amount of time required to charge a battery by dividing the battery's milliamp capacity by the chargers charge rate, e.g. it would take a 250 mah rate charger 6 hours to charge a completely drained 1500 mah battery. Every charger is different, so be certain to read your chargers manual thoroughly before charging your battery.

  • If you are not certain of a battery's remaining charge and you wish to charge it, place the battery on the charger and check it every 5-10 minutes. If the battery is warm to the touch, assume it is fully charged. If it is hot to the touch, remove the battery from the charger immediately!

  • Remember, NiCad batteries must be completely discharged before charging again. Use the appropriate discharger to discharge the battery, or completely drain the battery through normal use before charging again
